Hello fellow leaders,

I thought you might be interested in these pages. I dare say that like me you probably have not heard of these awards or they have been mentioned but not explained. Well I thought it would be great for the clubs this year to have a go and see how many of these awards they can achieve.

I know you are thinking to yourselves "what's he after now?". Well I'll tell you. I'm after all the clubs getting recognition for the hard work they put in each year to gain new members and by telling them that these awards are out there to be earned.

We all like to see our club banners flying and its always more impressive when your club has a few ribbons attached. Well this is another way of earning those ribbons by having a concentrated push to reach our targets at certain times of the year.
It sometimes makes a difference when we target a specific time of year for certain projects rather than just plod along and hope we will achieve our goals.

I know of one club in my own Area that stands a good chance of earning the Smedley Award. Are your clubs up for the challenge?

Please pass this on to your Area Governors and Club Presidents and lets show the rest of the World what this District can do.
